Industrial Hemp in the US

Livity’s commitment to the environment is reflected in the materials we use and the products we design. We choose hemp because it’s fast growing, relies less on water, pesticides and herbicides, feels great and lasts long. Unfortunately, we can’t grow or mill this super plant domestically in the U.S. for legal reasons so we're forced to rely on fabric milled from hemp fiber grown in China or Canada. In the future, LIvity is aiming for complete vertical integration from harvesting and milling to manufacturing and distribution. Legalizing industrial hemp in the states would not only reduce Livity’s carbon footprint and streamline our production, but local farmers, economies and ecosystems would infinitely benefit as well. Alternative Transportation

Livity Outernational is headquartered in Los Angeles, a city notorious for terrible traffic and air quality. It’s estimated the residents of the Los Angeles metro area waste about three days per year sitting in traffic! On the flipside, Los Angeles is an incredibly bikeable city, and biking to work or recreationally can save time, money and our air quality.More...

Save Our Oceans

Livity was born with surf culture and an appreciation for the ocean at its core. That’s why we’re fighting for marine debris legislation in order to clean up our local beaches and protect water quality.

Plastic accounts for 90% of the trash thrown in our oceans and kills 1 million marine creatures each year. The most astounding atrocity in the ocean is the Pacific Gyre, otherwise known as the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. The gyre is a floating mass of 3.5 tons of debris, roughly twice the size of Texas. It’s estimated that there’s six times more plastic in those waters than zooplankton, and in coastal areas of California, plastic outnumbers zooplankton by a factor of 2.5!  More...

Slow Food

Livity is a free, healthy and sustainable lifestyle inside and out. So naturally, the Livity staff eats and supports local, organically-grown food as much possible. People worldwide are rediscovering the benefits of buying local. It’s fresher than anything in the supermarket, tastier and more nutritious. It’s also good for the local economy -- buying directly from family farmers helps them stay in business. The mission of the newly-revamped “slow food” movement seeks to create dramatic and lasting change in the food system. It reconnects Americans with the people, traditions, plants, animals, fertile soils and waters that produce our food. Slow Food USA, a leader in the movement, inspires a transformation in food policy, production practices and market forces to ensure equity, sustainability and pleasure in the food we eat. More...
